Back in 2014 I was lucky enough to be asked to contribute to the 21 Draw Project: a book designed to showcase Character Designs from artists from around the globe. Very honoured to be featured alongside Steven Silver, Enrique Fernandez and Wouter Tulp. Here was my entry- I was given the prompt: “Female Biker”. I decided to go with a futuristic trials biker theme…
Hi Everyone! So… um, it’s been over a year since I last posted to this blog…Ack! If anyone is still out there and coming by to check out my stuff- hello and thank you for sticking in there!!! 🙂 I’ve been a bit flattened by work since late 2014 but I hope to start posting fairly regularly again. I’ve been the sole designer for a small production company for a prolonged period (over a 1 1/2 years to date…), which has been an amazing experience but it blew my casual art schedule out of the water… 😦 I’ve also been slowly re-designing the blog a bit so that all my info is in one place… Apologies to anyone who visited during one of my “tweaking” phases. It’s not quite done yet but will hopefully be sorted soon. Gracie
So this was started quite a while ago as a serious foray into completing a character design on the ipad…Then freelance work came a-calling and it got put on hold. Finally found a bit of time to finish this today. The lighting effects were done in photoshop…Note to the Procreate app on the Ipad- in the next update could you add some kind of gradient or fill tool? Pretty please? 🙂
Colour doodle- managed to find the patience to finish despite continuously having to fight against Photoshop- it’s mysteriously stopped recognising hot keys/ drawing tablet button commands…? I should get back to posting fairly regularly if I can figure out what it’s problem is…
Mooching through my hard-drive is throwing up all sorts of stuff I’d forgotten about… This was a quick style test for a children’s book I did back before Christmas…
