Once, long ago, I was fairly competent with portrait painting… I’ve neglected it lately- my old life drawing teacher would no doubt be disgusted 😉

So I posted a character design up a couple of days ago for a quick childrens book pitch I was working on. I only had a couple of days to work on a double page spread for it so it was a bit rushed, but here it is. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but it shows the general gist of what I would try to do with the style and layout of text etc… With the turn around so quick on it, I didn’t have much of a chance to flesh out some of the character designs. The science teacher in particular has been bugging me ever since I sent the work- so I took a little while to play with her design and make her a bit more kooky and fun…:)
