Large Barbarian

Here’s the second of a series of barbarians I did. I posted the first a couple of days ago. The brief for this was “a big kindhearted peacekeeper who was also slightly sadistic”. I decided that the sadistic edge to his character/design would come from the wolf pelf he wears, which is actually a wolf playing possum. So my initial idea was actually 2 characters in one design where there might be a kind of Jekyll and Hyde effect going on between the two of them…

Islanders

So I had idea for a series of stories/ animations involving an archipelago of tropical islands. This is a family that lives on one of them. This is actually a relatively old image- designs done back in october 2012. I’m planning to get back to it at some point and design the other tribes who live on some of the other islands .

Dragons

Some character designs for a brief which requested a “dragon and rider interacting”. I decided to go with the idea of a pint-sized zealous barbarian girl and her large lazy dragon- which despite her temper and propensity for violence, she can never get to cooperate! She’s found a way to get it moving- the chicken is probably none too pleased about it mind you. It’s definitely got a Thelwell vibe to the situation- which I really don’t mind as I loved those books!
